Heavy-Duty Guide Rail Freight Lift for SINOTRUK Factory

POSTED: 5/12/2026

Overview

As one of leading heavy truck manufacturers, Sinotruk plays an important role in the global commercial vehicle industry, with its Laiwu manufacturing base responsible for the production of heavy truck frames and key components. Large-scale industrial manufacturers typically require highly reliable material handling systems that can support continuous operation, strict safety standards, and efficient internal logistics.

In the heavy truck manufacturing industry, vertical transportation of frame trolleys and large materials often faces several common challenges:

  • Large trolley sizes reduce forklift handling efficiency
  • High-frequency transportation requires excellent equipment stability
  • Limited workshop space restricts material flow
  • Manual transportation increases safety risks
  • Heavy-duty applications can cause platform sway and uneven loading issues

To address these challenges, Gradin provided a customized dual-cylinder four-guide-rail hydraulic freight lift solution, combining heavy-duty structural stability with optimized on-site access design to improve vertical material handling efficiency for continuous industrial production environments.

Client & Requirements

Beijing Jiacheng Xingye (founded 1999, registered capital RMB 350 million) is a Tier 1 supplier to Great Wall Motors and Beijing Hyundai, producing automotive interior parts (injection‑moulded, foamed, compression‑moulded). It operates 5 production bases (Beijing, Tianjin, Cangzhou, Hefei, Weifang) with annual revenue exceeding RMB 600 million.

Site requirement: Three‑floor workshop, moving loaded trolleys between floors. Total travel 14m, but the floor opening allows only 500mm pit depth. Required: 1 ton capacity, 3 stops, roller door interlock, fall protection.

Why Four-Guide-Rail Structure Was Chosen

For industrial freight lifts carrying large trolleys, platform stability is critical. Standard two-rail structures often experience slight platform deflection under uneven loading conditions.

To solve this issue, Gradin Lifts adopted a reinforced four-guide-rail configuration combined with dual hydraulic cylinders. This design delivers:

  • Better anti-sway performance
  • Higher structural rigidity
  • More stable lifting movement
  • Improved load distribution
  • Longer service life under continuous industrial use

The system is particularly suitable for automotive factories, steel workshops, and logistics production lines where heavy-duty operation cycles are frequent.

Structural Optimization for Easier Loading

During the installation planning phase, the client identified that the original second-floor diagonal support structure partially blocked trolley access.

To improve loading efficiency, the project team redesigned the upper support configuration while preserving structural safety. The optimized support layout significantly improved the entrance clearance for frame trolleys and reduced operational difficulty for workers.

This type of on-site structural optimization is especially important in retrofit factory projects where existing civil structures limit equipment installation space.

Industrial Safety Configuration

Safety was one of the key priorities of this project. The freight lift was equipped with multiple industrial-grade safety features to ensure safe operation in high-frequency workshop environments.

Main Safety Features

  • Mechanical gravity-following landing doors
  • Yellow-black warning markings around door frames
  • Three-side 2-meter safety fence
  • Hydraulic pressure monitoring
  • Oil level indicator system
  • Digital display control panel
  • Stable chain synchronization system
  • Heavy-duty steel guide rail structure

The combination of mechanical interlocks and reinforced structure helps minimize accidental movement and improves operator protection during daily operation.ith zero production downtime.

FAQ

A: 125H steel offers superior torsional rigidity, which is critical for wide platforms (3m+) to ensure the carriage remains level even if the load is slightly off-center.

A: We recommend a visual inspection of the chains and lubrication of the guide rails every1.5 months, with a full hydraulic fluid check annually.

A:200mm is our optimized minimum for this load/travel combo. Reducing it further would require a ramp, which might affect forklift accessibility.

A: The system includes 12#safety synchronization ropes and a burst-valve system in the hydraulic lines to prevent rapid descent.
