Triple‑Speed Hydraulic Lift|14m Travel from 500mm Shallow Pit|Auto Parts Plant Case

POSTED: 5/9/2026

Overview

Client: Beijing Jiacheng Xingye Industrial & Trade Co., Ltd. (Tier 1 auto parts supplier)
Equipment: SJD1.0-14.0 Triple-speed guide rail hydraulic lift
Core: 14m travel + 500mm shallow pit + triple-speed hydraulics + 3-floor interlock

Client & Requirements

Beijing Jiacheng Xingye (founded 1999, registered capital RMB 350 million) is a Tier 1 supplier to Great Wall Motors and Beijing Hyundai, producing automotive interior parts (injection‑moulded, foamed, compression‑moulded). It operates 5 production bases (Beijing, Tianjin, Cangzhou, Hefei, Weifang) with annual revenue exceeding RMB 600 million.

Site requirement: Three‑floor workshop, moving loaded trolleys between floors. Total travel 14m, but the floor opening allows only 500mm pit depth. Required: 1 ton capacity, 3 stops, roller door interlock, fall protection.

Solution

To solve “shallow pit + ultra‑high travel + multi‑floor interlock”, we provided a triple‑speed hydraulics + shallow pit + fully interlocked safety package:

  • Triple‑speed chain multiplier reduces cylinder stroke to 4.7m, fitting perfectly into the 500mm pit – eliminates deep excavation.
  • Three high‑speed roller doors are electrically interlocked with the lift – door open = power cut; all doors closed = lift can run.
  • Full‑height guardrails + mechanical fall arrest device protect personnel, loads and equipment.

Design‑to‑shipment took only 20 days, with zero production downtime.

FAQ

A triple‑speed system uses chains + movable pulleys to multiply the cylinder stroke by 3. With a conventional 1:1 cylinder, a 14m lift would require a 14m cylinder and a pit depth of at least 7m. In this project, the pit is only 500mm deep. With triple‑speed, the cylinder stroke is about 4.7m, achieving a 14m carriage rise. The cylinder sits completely inside the shallow pit, saving over 30% in civil work.

Yes. The cylinder base is fixed in the pit, the piston rod end connects to a movable pulley, one end of the chain is anchored to the pit floor and the other end attaches to the carriage. When the cylinder extends, the pulley moves up and pulls the carriage at triple speed. All multiplier components (1244 plate chains, #12 wire ropes, pulleys) are selected with a 1.5 safety factor, and dual cylinders are synchronised for smooth, reliable operation.

The triple interlock consists of:

Each floor has a high‑speed roller door (W2600×H3000mm). The electrical interlock works as follows:

  • If any roller door is open → lift control circuit is cut, lift cannot start
  • Only when all doors are fully closed can the lift receive operation commands
  • When the lift arrives at a floor and levels, only that floor‘s door is allowed to open

This “door open = power off, all doors closed = lift runs” logic eliminates the risk of personnel or trolleys entering the shaft.

Gradin has supplied many custom lifts at 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 speed ratios to automotive parts, warehousing and food processing clients. The SJD1.0-14.0 triple‑speed model is a mature product line with dozens of successful installations. We can also provide CE certification, full drawings and export documentation for international projects.
