Een schaarlift voor ondergrondse garages is een mechanisch apparaat dat ontworpen is om voertuigen verticaal omhoog te brengen binnen een beperkte ruimte voor opslag- of onderhoudsdoeleinden. Eenmaal volledig opgetild, kunnen voertuigen gemakkelijk op het lagere platform rijden. Gebruikers kunnen dan moeiteloos hun voertuig in een garage manoeuvreren of ervoor kiezen om het daar te parkeren terwijl het platform daalt. Het bovenste platform sluit naadloos aan op het maaiveld en biedt ruimte voor een extra voertuig of voor persoonlijke decoratie. Met name de rijhoogte komt overeen met de afstand tussen de twee platforms, waardoor een soepele en efficiënte werking wordt gegarandeerd.
